Palette

I’ve used this cheap plastic palette since 2018 and it has served me well (and I never clean it). Although, I think once I begin doing larger works, I might get a slightly bigger (aluminum) palette from Holbein.

I’ve used M. Graham watercolors for many years and I’ve just recently begun trying Holbein as well. I find both to quite good and high quality.

Brushes

I use a variety of brushes nowadays. Mostly mops and rounds. Brushes can be quite expensive but I’ve found it is worth it, if you’re serious about watercolor painting.

I use a mixture of Da Vinci and Escoda brushes mostly. Some natural hair and others synthetic.

Paper

Arches 140lb. Rough texture

Tape

Still trying to figure out a reliable masking tape (acid and residue-free) to use that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg for one roll, stay tuned!

Tripod

I find this Soho Tripod to be reliable in the studio and for plein air, and I have used it for many years now:
